Occupational therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction addresses a range of disorders from a holistic, environmental, and self-care perspective. 

Therapy is appropriate for the any of the following conditions:

  • pelvic pain
  • incontinence (urinary or bowel)
  • painful sex 
  • birth injuries 
  • prolapse (cystocele and rectocele)
  • diastasis recti
  • pubic symphysis dysfunction/pain 
  • SI pain 
  • pain following gender confirmation surgery

Therapy is externally based and focuses on correcting orthopedic misalignments as well as altering habits or environmental stressors that may be causing or exaggerating a person's condition.
